Vor mehr als 100 Jahren begann der vierjährige 1. Weltkrieg,
vor nunmehr 70 Jahren endete der 2. Weltkrieg.
More than 100 years ago four years old WWI started,
now we remind of the end of WWII 70 years ago.
Nichts ist selbstverständlich!
Wir müssen auf unseren Frieden aufpassen.
Nothing is sure!
We have to pay attention to our peace.

Very well written – and soldiers are ordinary people like everyone else and just tools in the hands of political rulers and these rulers diverse motives which far mostly are selfish motives…
Wars are not the solution to a problem but part of the problem…
Thank you, Drake. You’re right and I’m glad that you say that.
There is no justification for the death of so many people.
Thank you for visiting my blog 🙂

Thank you, scifihammy. I’ll do my best 😉
Agree!! Peace cannot be taken for granted. Peace to the souls of the soldiers as any war is sad and bad.
That’s it. „Lest we forget“ as scifihammy said.
Joli texte pour des dates qu’il ne faut pas oublier, les photos sont superbes.
Belle soirée Ulli.
Merci Hervé. Je suis heureux avec votre commentaire.

I love this post. It has so much to say to us. In Finland we have well-kept memorials nearly everywhere in the smallest village. They are situated nearby churches. They are well kept and the best is that there is a statue also which is in many cases „heart touching“. If You do not mind, I give here the link to my post:
Memorials.
Happy weekend!
Hello Sartenda,
thank you for visiting my blog and commenting this post.
Yes, it shows a great heart and responsibility not to forget what happened. In Germany it’s like in Finland, the most memorials are situated nearby churches.
This cemetery is not only nearby a church, it’s part of a very big park – the „Rüstringer Stadtpark“, Wilhelmshaven.
Have a nice weekend too,
Ulli
Sobbing to see these photos. Well said. Thank you, Ulli.
Thank you, Amy. I know to appreciate your comment.
