Gotland – Visby

Schweden ist ein herrliches Segelrevier. Bei jedem Wetter kann man dort etwas unternehmen. Ist es ruppig und stürmisch, so bleibt man im geschützten Bereich der Schären am Festland, sind Wind und Welle moderat, so kann man die Inselwelt erkunden.
Der Sommer 2013 war ein guter um Gotland zu besuchen. Unser Ziel war die Hauptstadt: Visby. Eine wunderschöne ehemalige Hansestadt. Fast der ganze Ort steht unter Denkmalschutz, er ist eine Fundstelle historischer Bauten und Sehenswürdigkeiten.
Fantastisch ist die fast vollständig erhaltene 3,6 km lange mittelalterliche Stadtmauer mit der Ruine der Visborg.

Sweden is a nice sailing area. You always have the chance  to sail. If there is stormy weather you stay under the protection of the archipelago of Sweden and if the waves and winds are  moderate you can explore the world of islands.
So, the summer 2013 was a good one to visit Gotland. Our destination was the capital town: Visby. A wonderful town – once a free Hanseatic City. Nearly the whole town is declared a historic monument. Visby is a place to find lot’s of historical buildings and sights.
Fantastic to see is the nearly complete medieval townwall with a length of 3,6 km and the ruin of the Visborg.

Stralsund – Tor zu Rügen ♥♥♥ Stralsund – Gateway to the Island of Rügen

Auch an der Ostsee hat Deutschland einige bedeutsame Städte. Eine davon, im Nordosten des Landes, ist Stralsund.

Ihren Namen hat sie von einer Meerenge der Ostsee, dem Strelasund. Ihre geografische Lage macht sie zum Tor zur Insel Rügen.
Bereits im Jahr 1234 erhielt Stralsund das Stadtrecht. Seit 2002 gehört die Altstadt, zusammen mit der Altstadt von Wismar, zum UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe.
Rund 58.000 Einwohner leben in der attraktiven Stadt.

Located in the Northeast of Germany makes Stralsund a town of the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

Situated at the southern coast of the Strelasund, that separates the island Rügen from the mainland, gives Stralsund the name „the gateway tot he island of Rügen“.
In 1234 prince Wizlaw I of Rügen granted Lübeck law to Stralsund and in 1293 Stralsund became a member oft the Hanseatic League.
In 2002 Stralsund’s old town was honoured as a UNESCO World Heritage, along with Wismar#s old town.
About 58.000 people live in this very attractive town.
